The City of Chicago requires a dumpster permit to be issued if the dumpster will be placed on the public way in the City. Please let us know when ordering your dumpster if it will be placed at the curb or in the alley. Hoosier Haulers is licensed with the City of Chicago and will handle the paperwork for acquiring your permit.

There are two permit options: 3-day permit for $70 30-day permit for $120

Permit days include weekends and holidays

No matter which option you need, the permit is good for multiple dumpsters during the timeframe of the permit. If your dumpster will be blocking a parking meter, our dispatcher will need to know the parking meter number so that it can be submitted to the City of Chicago. This will result in a higher permit price as the city will charge you for loss revenue of the parking meter location.

Fees for permits are doubled in the Central Business District. The District is located from the area of the city east of Halsted between Division Street on the north and Roosevelt Road on the south.
